Why Tables, Squares & Cubes Matter?

Bank PO, SSC CGL, Railway NTPC aur har competitive exam mein 50% success calculation speed par depend karta hai! Agar aapko Multiplication Tables (2-30), Squares (1-50) aur Cubes (1-30) yaad hain, toh aap har question 30-40 seconds mein solve kar sakte ho jabki baaki log 1-2 minute lagate hain.

Exam Reality Check

IBPS PO 2023 Analysis: Average time per question = 45 seconds. Students who knew tables got 15-20 extra questions right compared to those who calculated manually. That's 30-40 marks difference — enough to decide selection!

1. Multiplication Tables (2 to 30)

Tables yaad hone se aapka division aur multiplication speed 3x ho jata hai! Especially focus on 13, 17, 19, 23, 27, 29 — ye most tricky hain aur exams mein zyada aate hain.

Memory Trick: 17 ka Table

Pattern: 17×1=17 → 17×2=34 → 17×3=51 → 17×4=68...
Notice: Units digit cycle: 7→4→1→8→5→2→9→6→3→0 (repeats!)
Once you know the pattern, 17×7 = 119 comes instantly!

Vedic Math Shortcut: Multiply by 11

Any 2-digit × 11: Add the digits and place in middle!
Example: 63 × 11 = 6_(6+3)_3 = 693
If sum > 9: 78 × 11 = 7_(7+8)_8 = 7_(15)_8 = 858 (carry 1)

2. Perfect Squares (1 to 50)

Squares are the foundation of Number Series, Simplification, and DI. Exam mein jab "?" = 625 aaye, toh instantly pata hona chahiye = 25²!

Square Ending Pattern

All squares end in: 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 9 only!
Never end in: 2, 3, 7, 8
Use Case: If question asks "Which is a perfect square: 5765, 5766, 5769?" → Answer: 5769 (ends in 9)!

Square of (x5) Numbers

Any number ending in 5: Multiply first digit by (first digit + 1), append 25!

25² = ?
2 × 3 = 6, append 25 → 625

75² = ?
7 × 8 = 56, append 25 → 5625

Square Near 50

For numbers near 50: (50±x)² = 2500 ± 100x + x²

47² = (50-3)²
= 2500 - 300 + 9 = 2209

53² = (50+3)²
= 2500 + 300 + 9 = 2809

(a+b)² Formula Shortcut

32² = (30+2)² = 30² + 2×30×2 + 2² = 900 + 120 + 4 = 1024
48² = (50-2)² = 50² - 2×50×2 + 2² = 2500 - 200 + 4 = 2304

3. Perfect Cubes (1 to 30)

Cubes are essential for Compound Interest, Mensuration (Volume), and Number Series. CI problems mein 3 years ke liye cube use hota hai!

CI Formula Connection

Amount = P(1 + R/100)³ for 3 years
If R = 10%, then multiplier = 1.1³ = 1.331 → Just multiply Principal by 1.331!
₹10,000 at 10% for 3 years = ₹13,310

Cube Ending Pattern

Cube endings match original endings:
1³ = 1, 2³ = 8, 3³ = 27, 4³ = 64, 5³ = 125, 6³ = 216, 7³ = 343, 8³ = 512, 9³ = 729
Pattern: 1→1, 2→8, 3→7, 4→4, 5→5, 6→6, 7→3, 8→2, 9→9, 0→0
Use: 17³ must end in 3, 24³ must end in 4!

4. Powers of 2, 3, 5, and 7

Number Series aur Simplification mein powers bahut kaam aate hain! Especially 2 ki powers (binary) aur 3 ki powers most common hain.

2ⁿ Powers of 2

2¹ = 2
2² = 4
2³ = 8
2⁴ = 16
2⁵ = 32
2⁶ = 64
2⁷ = 128
2⁸ = 256
2⁹ = 512
2¹⁰ = 1024
2¹¹ = 2048
2¹² = 4096

3ⁿ Powers of 3

3¹ = 3
3² = 9
3³ = 27
3⁴ = 81
3⁵ = 243
3⁶ = 729
3⁷ = 2187
3⁸ = 6561

5ⁿ Powers of 5

5¹ = 5
5² = 25
5³ = 125
5⁴ = 625
5⁵ = 3125
5⁶ = 15625

7ⁿ Powers of 7

7¹ = 7
7² = 49
7³ = 343
7⁴ = 2401
7⁵ = 16807

Quick Divisibility Check

Divisible by 4: Last 2 digits divisible by 4
Divisible by 8: Last 3 digits divisible by 8
Divisible by 9: Sum of digits divisible by 9
Divisible by 11: (Sum of odd position digits) - (Sum of even position digits) = 0 or multiple of 11

5. Important Fractions & Percentages

Simplification aur DI mein fraction-to-percentage conversion bahut important hai. Ye values yaad karo instant calculation ke liye!

Halves & Thirds

1/2 = 50%
1/3 = 33.33%
2/3 = 66.67%

Quarters & Fifths

1/4 = 25%
3/4 = 75%
1/5 = 20%
2/5 = 40%

Sixths & Sevenths

1/6 = 16.67%
1/7 = 14.28%
1/8 = 12.5%
1/9 = 11.11%

Elevenths & More

1/11 = 9.09%
1/12 = 8.33%
1/15 = 6.67%
1/20 = 5%

6. How to Master These in 7 Days?

📅 Day 1-2: Tables 2-15

Write each table 5 times. Say out loud while writing. Focus on 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.

📅 Day 3-4: Tables 16-30

Focus on tricky ones: 17, 19, 23, 27, 29. Use the unit digit pattern trick.

📅 Day 5: Squares 1-30

Group similar patterns. 11²=121, 22²=484, 33²=1089. Use (a+b)² formula.

📅 Day 6: Squares 31-50

Use near-50 formula. 47²=2209, 48²=2304, 49²=2401, 50²=2500.

📅 Day 7: Cubes + Powers

Focus on cubes 1-15 first. Then powers of 2 (up to 2¹⁰) and 3 (up to 3⁶).
